Basic Admissions Information

Admissions Term Fall, Winter, Spring. Fall quarter admission recommended to be considered for financial support.
GRE GRE general test required.
GRE Subject Test GRE subject test not required.
TOEFL or IELTS Exam The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is required for international applicants whose native language is not English and who have not studied full-time for one uninterruped year at a university-level institution in a country where English is the official language.

If an application has less than three letters that application will not be reviewed
Statement of Purpose Requirements

Prefers the online Statement of Purpose
limited to 1 page
Include additional information on the following as part of your statement:

  1. Areas of interest: Materials Synthesis and Processing, Materials Structural Characterization, Materials Property Characterization, Materials Functionality or specify other interest.
  2. Classes of materials of interest: Structural, Electronic, Magnetic, Optical, Multi-Functional, Smart or Composites.
  3. Who are you interested in working with.
Specific Program Requirements All applicants must submit a resume along with any other supporting documents or papers that have been published.
